Albertos Beraha and his friends in Florina

The pictures was probably taken sometime in 1935.

This is in Florina, where we spent most of our summers before the war. I am the one in the middle and the rest of the kids are relatives. One of them was Christian and his name was Varadinis; he became a doctor.

The surname of the others was Avagiou. The pictures were taken with personal cameras, having one of them at the time was progress. We were progressive, we had a square camera like the really old ones you see today.

For holidays we would go to Florina and then to Pelion, I remember both places being very beautiful. We would always take the train to get to our holiday destination.

Back then the sea wasn’t as popular for vacation as the mountains. I think that was because many people had weak lungs. My parents never went on holiday without me.
